Mini Lessons
I had spent my practicum placement time in a fourth grade classroom. For part of my practicum placement we are able to take part in Immersion Week. Immersion Week was a week long opportunity to visit the classroom everyday. This time was valuable to gain experience in the classroom setting. Over the week, I was able to teach three different mini lessons to the fourth grade students. I have included a link to each of the mini lessons since they are a good example of activities that I could one day do with my own class as well. The three mini lessons are on comprehension, fluency, and writing. The fluency picture underneath the lesson shows student results from the lesson. I felt this was important to incorporate on my webpage because it shows how the lessons that I create are effective in the classroom.

Text Samples from Practicum
In my practicum placement I have been able to observe many of the books that students are reading in the fourth grade classroom. My class does a majority of the selection of books they read on their own, but some are used for group reading.
Some books I have seen include:
Stranded by Jeff Probst
Ivan the One and Only by Katherine Applegate
The I Survived... Series by Lauren Tarshis
Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan
Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney
Wonder by R.J. Palacio
The Stone Fox by John Reynolds Gardiener
Magic Tree House books by Mary Pope Osborn
